The Manchester Parks & Recreation Department will once again be offering our annual winter basketball program for Manchester and Essex children in grades K - 6. Participants must live or go to school in either the Town of Manchester or the Town of Essex to participate in this program.
For participants is Grades K, 1 & 2: The season will start for this age group on Saturday, December 6th.
Kindergarten: This age group is on their own co-ed team and they practice in the first session of the day (typically 8:00am-9:00am) on Saturday morning at Manchester Memorial School Gym.
1st and 2nd Grade: This age group will be placed on co-ed teams and they will play each other on a rotating schedule, typically 9:00am-10:00am, 10:00am-11:00am & 11:00am-12:00pm all at Manchester Memorial Gym. Their games are NOT officiated by officials and we do not keep score- the coaches act as officials during their 1/2 hour game.
For participants in Grades 3 - 6: Each team will have a one hour practice during the week at Manchester Memorial Gym between the hours of 6:00pm-8:00pm and one game during the day and or early evening on Saturday at Manchester Memorial Gym. After the last week of the season, there will be a tournament called the Bob Fulford Annual Basketball Tournament- all teams play. The program will end before February vacation. Specific schedules will be sent home prior to the start of the season. Practices for grades 3-6 will start the week of December 1st. Games will start Saturday, December 6th.
For participants in grades 3 - 6, there will be a mandatory evaluation clinic held at the Manchester Elementary School so that we can place your child on the proper team to make them as evenly balanced as possible. Spaces are limited, please register early.

3/4 Boys, 10:45am-11:45am

5/6 Boys, 1:00pm-2:00pm
5/6 Girls, 2:00pm-3:00pm
Please be on time. This clinic in only for the kids and coaches. Please drop them off at the door that says "Gymnasium" on the building at Memorial School. This evaluation clinic is mandatory for all children & Coaches participating in this league. This clinic helps us balance the teams for a fun, competitive teaching basketball season!!
All coaches are expected at the clinic to assist.

The 2025-2026 game schedule will be announced in late November when we have an idea of how many teams we will have, we will also work around the local basketball travel teams. We strongly encourage kids to play in both travel and town teams. Playing in both leagues gives your athlete extra court time during the winter months while keeping our league competitive.
The schedule will be posted and emailed as soon as it’s complete- expect by the week of November 24th
Fees:
- Grades K - 2 $180.00* ($240 after 11/7)
- Grades 3 - 6 $240.00* ($280 after 11/7)
Coaches
Interested in Coaching? Want to give back to the youth in the your community, this is a great way to stay connected with your children and their friends. All coaches must follow Manchester Parks and Recreation set rules and guidelines and pass a CORI check.
