Field Hockey Clinic (Grades 1-6)

This Fall we are excited to offer Field Hockey Clinics for beginners! Calling all youngsters interested in learning the basics of the game of field hockey and have a ton of fun doing it. These clinics will boast learning sessions and fun, competitive games to implement all learned skills. We hope you join us for this amazing field hockey experience. See below for more details: 
 
WHO: Beginner field hockey players in grades 1-6 (Never played to 1-2 years experience).  
DATES: Sundays, October 3-November 7, from 10:00-11:30am 
LOCATION: Masconomo Park, 60 Beach St, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA 01944
COST: $150 - 6 sessions  
REQUIRED: Stick, shin guards, mouth guard, field hockey or lax goggles and Water.  Sticks can be purchased on amazon ranging from $30-100. (Sticks should be just tall enough to reach your child's hip when standing straight at their side.)

INSTRUCTION: We will be focusing on the instruction of core skills  including ball control (pulls, dribble, 3D), passing skills (push, sweep, hit), and receiving skills (open, closed). We will take all these skills and implement them into competitive, active competitions and play-based situations and games. We hope to balance learning and fun during this 6-week clinic! (one built in for rain.)

LEAD COACH: Katelyn Regan (formally Orlando) is an alumni of Manchester Essex Regional High School where she held a varsity position on the field hockey team for three years. She led her team to three Cape Ann League Championships and earned all-star and all-league awards her sophomore, junior and senior years. She moved on to play Division I field hockey at the University of Massachusetts from 2005-2009. During her playing career, Katelyn earned many accolades, most notably she was a senior captain boasting awards such as offensive player of the year in the A-10  and a Northeast Region All-American. Upon completion of her playing career at UMass, she was hired as an Assistant Field Hockey coach at UMass for three years. Katelyn is now a 5th grade teacher in Beverly and our Summer Playground Director. She is excited to share her field hockey knowledge, as well as use her experience as an educator to create a positive experience for all participants.
